Shauna Russell

Writer's picture: Chloe HamiltonChloe Hamilton

So, Shauna Russell is another Instagram artist (@weekdaybest) which i stumbled upon who considers herself as a modern watercolourist. Her use of colours is what truly brought my attention to her work as well as that she also does pet portraits. The use of watercolour makes me think of how i could take that technique and try and turn it into more of a pop art style. Another significant thing about her artwork that intrigues me a lot is the hair stroke detail she puts within her work, with my artwork being based around dogs hair strokes are a big detail that needs to be included to create depth and texture within the artwork. Overall, by look at Shauna I've been inspired to experiment with watercolours to see if i can make it work with the pop art theme in my work.
