John Currin

Writer's picture: Chloe HamiltonChloe Hamilton

John Currin was one of the first artists recommended to me by one of my lecturers becauses of his style of painting. Currin is best known for his satirical figurative paintings that deal with social themes, to me his style of painting reminds me specifically of renaissance paintings like Michelangelo did which is very skilful. I intend to look at a lot of his work as influence on how to approach painting the human face is a classical way.
