Graham Gercken

Writer's picture: Chloe HamiltonChloe Hamilton

Graham Gercken is another landscape that I’m looking at for inspiration. The Australian impressionist artist uses very vivid colours within in his landscape paintings which is eyecatching to the viewer of the painting. His technique and the medium he uses particularly interests me as well, he uses the wet on wet technique with his oil paints, which is a technique i aspire to use with my paintings. As well as that for extra detail he also slabs on some of his oil paints, not blending them out, to create more detail within his work which is intrigues me quite a lot.
