František Kaván

So I’m also looking at František Kaván as well for inspiration in my project as a lot of his work focuses around landscapes, and a small amount of his pieces include some quite vivid colours. Now František Kaván was a Czech painter, particualarly specialising in realistic landscapes and in fact created over 4,000 paintings. The aspects of his work that interest me is his technique, in his some of his landscape paintings you can see that the paints aren’t smoothly blended. It appears that te paint has just been layered on, a little bit like Van Gogh just not as harsh, in my opinion anyways.
