Emily Ward was an artist that was recommended to me to look at by one of my lecturers. Now, Emily covers a variety of subjects in her paintings however she also does pet portrait commissions as well. To create the artwork she uses acrylic paint on a canvas which is typically 40x40cm working from photographs, within the paintings she perfectly captures the personalities of the dogs which is something i especially want to capture in my work too. However, Emily's pet portraits are more on the realistic side whereas i would like for mine to be more pop art style. Overall all though looking at her work will be a big benefactor to me as to how i want to position the dogs on the canvas.
