Andy Warhol

Writer's picture: Chloe HamiltonChloe Hamilton

The first artist that I’m taking inspiration from for my new self negotiated project (pop art dogs) is Andy Warhol (1928-87). I see Warhol as one of the most iconic pop artists there was. His use of vibrant colours, especially in his Marilyn Monroe pieces I take great amount of inspiration from. Although, Andy mostly used the screen printing technique to produce his work, it often made the work appear as if it didn’t have his artistic mark which is what he wanted. However, in my work I shall not being doing that and instead using watercolours, acrylic paints and oil paints to create my experiments

and exhibition pieces with as I want my artist mark visible. So, the main inspiration I’ll be taking away from Andy Warhol is his very saturated colours and his placement choice of them.
